Are Toy Boys the new black? Has our dating evolution finally led us to a point where age truly is no barrier to love? Well, if the overwhelming success of Fast Impressions Toy Boy Speed Dating events are anything to go by, the answer is a resounding 'YES!', writes Justin Parfitt.
With a 96% match rate recorded at the most recent Toy Boy party, it seems that both sexes are cottoning on to the mutual benefits. Women are discovering that sensitivity and a sense of adventure are still available in a mate, whilst boys are uncovering the benefits of the experienced older woman, with the financial independence to back it up.
A recent study in the US showed that almost 1/3 of women aged 40-69 were dating men ten or more years their junior, and it seems Australians are following suit. And the increasing trend among Hollywoods leading ladies to pluck the fruit a little earlier is most certainly helping to remove the stigma, making Toy Boys less of a joke, and more of an object of envy.
But is this trend here to stay, or it simply just another fetish fulfilment? From Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher to Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, Hollywood is proving that these couples can last the distance, and that challenging our basic, narrow perceptions of what couples should be can reap major rewards.
So what can we learn from these trail blazers? Have fun, experiment, and stay open minded the results might surprise you!!
